Für ‚Un-stairs‘ hat das belgisch-spanische Künstlerpaar Dupont (*1971) und Montoya (*1974) eine 16 Meter hohe Holztreppe abgebaut und so modifiziert, dass sie in den nur 13 Meter langen Ausstellungsraum der Venloer Künstlerinitiative Het Raam passte.
Das Ergebnis bezeichnen die beiden Künstler als "surrealistisch anmutende Installation, die dennoch immer noch an die früheren Arbeiten ‚Stairs‘ und Arco05/ClaraMontoya’ erinnert."
Ihre Kooperation ‚Stairs’, aus dem Jahre 2009 wurde beim zweijährlich stattfindenden Land Art Symposium im belgischen Sites en Lignes ausgezeichnet. Die Skulptur umschloss einen riesigen Baum. Sie sollte Bewegung, den Schaffensprozess und schließlich dessen Ergebnis visualisieren. Das Stück wurde als eine beeindruckende Skulptur präsentiert, das sich zwar vom Boden aus betrachten ließ aber nicht begehbar war.
‚Arco05/ClaraMontoya’ war indes eine Arbeit, die den gesamten Kontext der Arco05 Art Fair in Madrid als Kontext für eine Installation betrachtete. Als fünf Meter hoher Aussichtsturm bot die Skulptur dem Betrachter einen beeindruckenden Blick auf die Kunstmesse.
Für den Kraftakt im Showroom der Venloer Künstlerstiftung Het Raam nutzten Olivier Dupont und Clara Montoya ihre Kunstobjekte als Material und lassen
die Bestandteile längst vergangener Ereignisse in einem ganz neuen Licht erscheinen.
